Senior Show: Hyperreality 

Supernormal Stimuli is the concept that explains why animals are more stimulated by exaggerated characteristics than the normal ones. Based on that idea, the “Hyperrealism” project focuses on creating a digital filter that plays with overstimulating humans to change their features for unreal proportions or characteristics. The filter is based on an organic drawing of leaves made with India ink and altered digitally to change to less natural colors. An AR representation was created to input the drawing into a mask that can be used through applications like Instagram or Facebook. The final question for the user is to think about why humans are obsessed with their image and with modified further away from the natural form.
