Kimberly Llajaruna is a candidate for Studio Arts and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester. Her work focuses on the creation of spaces where viewers can confront emotions they may have not experienced before. She has worked as a researcher on fluid dynamics and product engineering in the USA and Germany and has also worked as a graphic designer for different businesses in Rochester, NY.
Born in Lima, Peru in 1997, she has always found science an interesting topic for the explanation that it brings into nature, and it was in college when she started to use that knowledge in her art exploration. The final question on her work is to ask the viewer is to define how far we can see into other people’s life and how much are they hiding from us or, in the inverse scenario, how much we hide from others.
